Christmas Food

Christmas is all about eating and enjoying. Without Christmas food, enjoyment and celebrations are incomplete. People give special attention on the planning and preparation of Christmas food. Christmas food is main attraction during Christmas Eve celebrations.
 
There are innumerable traditional Christmas food and modern Christmas food recipes. These incalculable varieties of Christmas foods make the Christmas celebration delicious.

Christmas is main festival of Christians but it is celebrated by people of all other different religion and thus Christmas food is also enjoyed by all. There are some traditional Christmas food items which are traditionally eaten at or associated with the Christmas.

Like in Australia barbecue of prawns and steak and chicken with ice cream, in Finland its casserole of macaroni and carrot and potato. Christmas fish soup in Czech Republic, smoked salmon in France, bacalao in Mexico and many other. Like this traditional Christmas food is associated with different countries. Christmas cake, cookies, pudding, pie, candies, appetizers and deserts all are included in the Christmas food list. Type of Christmas food includes Mexican, German, Italian and lot more.

Hot and Sour Fish Soup Ingredients:
  • 2 cups - vegetable/ fish stock
  • 1 - carrot (cut into fine strips)
  • 6 to 8 - french beans (cut into fine strips)
  • 1 - capsicum
  • 4 to 5 - small florets cauliflower
  • 1 small piece - cabbage ( finely chopped)
  • 1 cup - boiled and shredded fish with bones removed
  • black mushrooms sliced into pieces
  • 1 tsp - pepper
  • 1 tsp - chilli sauce
  • 1 to 2 - finely chopped spring onions
  • 3 to 4 tbsp - vinegar
  • 2 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1 - egg beaten
  • 11/2 tbsp - cornflour (mixed with little water)
  • salt to taste
Method
  1. Boil the carrots, French beans and cauliflower and keep aside.
  2. Keep the stock to boil.
  3. Add spring onions, salt, pepper, mushrooms. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add the carrots, beans, capsicum, cauliflower, cabbage, fish pieces, vinegar, soya sauce and chilli sauce. Give it a boil.
  5. Add the corn flour mixture to the boiled ingredients.
  6. When the soup thickens gradually pour egg stirring over it.
  7. Remove and serve hot with chilli sauce and vinegar.
