Christmas Elves

A Christmas elf is a fictional diminutive creature that in modern times supposedly lives with Santa Claus in the North Pole and acts as his helper. Christmas elves are often depicted as green or red clad with pointy ears, long noses, and pointy hats. Sometimes, Santa's elves are said to make the toys in Santa's workshop and take care of his reindeer, among other tasks.
Elves in universal originate from pagan stories in northern Europe and were introduced into the Santa Claus tale during the 19th Century, in the United States, including in some cases where Santa Claus himself is an elf. Thus, Christmas elves became a part of American Christmas tradition that was exported, along with Santa Clause to other parts of the world. However, Christmas elves in American folklore originated in Northern Europe from where settlers brought the Christmas traditions that evolved into the American Christmas that was later exported around the world, along with other aspects of American popular culture.

Elves have been depicted as male or female, tiny or dwarf-like, youthful and immortal with magical powers. Later they were often referred to as living underground, in forests, springs and wells. Elves generally were magical beings that could control what people see as well as experience. Elves already a custom associated with story telling and magic. The elves could be helpful however their hatred was still event in story telling. Tales suggested that how you were treated by the elves depended on whether the person was thought to be naughty or nice.

Most of the children of the world always look forward to Christmas Day. It is the time when everybody imbibes joy in their hearts, a time when everybody gets to share a common desire to spread love on earth. And they do so by giving gifts. Gift giving during Christmas is very symbolical. It represents love and care. A gift personally picked by the giver is normally a mirror of how and what the receiver is being perceived. The gifts are a direct reflection of the person receiving it. Children in particular love the idea of gifts. It is practically the only thing they look forward to in Christmas.
